Research excellence
Essex Business School is home to an international research community pushing the boundaries of knowledge and investigating contemporary challenges within business and the wider world.
Our research agenda emphasises sustainability practices, corporate responsibility and key technologies. Our department houses seven Research Centres and five research groups. Our research spans topics including emerging markets, firm financing, corporate governance, financial econometrics and gender studies. Our academic staff also contribute towards the interdisciplinary ESRC Business and Local Government Data Research Centre. We embed the latest research and thinking into our teaching, so that students experience an education at the cutting edge of the discipline and learn about real-world issues affecting businesses and organisations in today’s economy.
